A strong start for Eastridge-Primehomes in the Championship Division of the 77th Philippine Airlines Interclub at South Pacific Golf and Country Club.
Rolando Bregente Jr. fired an impressive 38 points, matching teammate Alexander Bisera, as the defending champions surged ahead with a 10-point lead over Manila Southwoods.
The team’s opening performance was powered by consistent contributions from key players:
Adrian Bisera: 35 points
Nino Villasencio: 34 points
Edison Tabalin: 32 points (did not count toward team total)
Bregente’s front-nine performance was electric, racking up five birdies and reaching 5-under at the turn. A tricky par-3 13th and an out-of-bounds drive on the next hole tested his composure, but he steadied himself with four straight pars to finish strong.
“We’re focused on each shot and taking the tournament one round at a time,” said Team Captain Team captain Gimo Asuncion. “The team is motivated and ready for the challenges ahead.”
After Day 1, Eastridge-Primehomes holds a commanding lead, setting the pace as the tournament continues at Apo Golf and Country Club.
Fans and supporters can follow the team’s journey as they defend their title and aim for another championship win.
